Here's why you aren't motivated
When I go to social events and people get talking to me about their fitness.
We always end up talking about motivation...
"I just don't have it."... "How do you keep it Brenton?
99 % of people are convinced that motivation is the most important thing for results and consistency.
You are looking at it all wrong.
Motivation is like a cherry on top of the cake.
It's like the bonus to the wage packet.
The good looks on your already caring and considerate partner.
It's brilliant to have, but it's not the essential substance.
What has made you and so many people get this confused?
Here's what I've learnt after training over 500 clients from all backgrounds...
It's that your goals lack substance and so does the process.
Why do you want to achieve what you want to achieve?
What's the benefit behind the benefit of you wanting to be fit?
What's the pain behind the pain of this getting worse?
Ultimately, you want to move closer to pleasure and away from pain. ✅
The more clear we are on what our goals are going to do for us, the more motivation we have.
But this motivation has to become inspiration, which is day to day. Which is then reliable.
Inspiration is having a vision for who you want to be and how you want to feel.
Motivation on it's own is like an energy drink that boosts you for a couple hours.
It usually comes when you feel good, you've had a nice weekend, a compliment at work or after a great workout.
But not everyday is going to be like that...
What about when your meeting runs over and you are knackered from a long day at work?
What about when your partner forgets to buy the ingredients you want for the recipe you've got in mind?
Having a goal that you know is going to impact all parts of your life is the solution!
- Social life.
- Mental health.
This is basically using your emotions as fuel and your logic as a sat nav.
Both are important.
Lots of desire and no clarity and direction is a 1 way ticket to being burnt out.
A destination or goal without you being emotionally invested in it, is the reason you don't feel motivated.
