5 Most common weight loss questions
- How do I get rid of this stubborn belly fat?
- Should I lose weight and then do weight training?
- I don’t like to eat breakfast is that a bad thing?
- How do I stop snacking that’s my biggest problem?
- How do I get motivated to start losing weight?
These are my most common questions over 5 years of me being a coach.
And I want to quickly break down the answers for you, so that you can focus on what will make the biggest difference 😊
Because I do see many people spinning their wheels focusing on the wrong things to lose weight.
Which leaves them lacking progress and ultimately giving up.

- How do I get rid of this stubborn belly fat? -
Body fat cannot be pinpointed unfortunately. Certain areas are more stubborn due to genetics/gender and so on. But weight training will allow you to lose weight and change the shape of your body at the same time.
This way you then get the benefits of sculpting your figure or physique whilst dropping body fat.
If you are currently losing weight keep doing what you're doing and you will see the stubborn body parts lose fat. If you have hit a plateau with your weight loss, you will have to make some changes to continue losing weight.
Maybe more workouts/ different style workouts/ more intense workouts/ less calories/ sometimes more calories and so on.
- Should I lose weight and then start to do weight training? - Weight training is a very effective tool for weight loss. I suggest you do it from the beginning. As you burn calories during workouts and for the following 48 hours.
Starting the process of weight loss is always the hardest, in terms of habit building and momentum. So I encourage you to make it as easy as possible by starting with what is most effective and gets you quick results which is weight training.
- I don’t like to eat breakfast is that bad? - You don’t have to eat breakfast at the conventional time in the morning. This won’t make an impact on weight loss. Some people function better by eating later in the day and that’s perfectly fine.
Eating at a certain time has no proven benefits to weight loss, your metabolism or anything like that. Eating patterns and frequency is purely personal.
If you like to eat early in the day, do it. If you don’t, don’t do it. Either way you can get the results you want.
- How do I stop snacking that’s my biggest problem? -
Snacking isn’t the problem, it’s what you snack on that usually is. Most people that snack too much, don’t eat substantial enough meals which then makes them snack too much.
They also don’t eat enough protein. Protein will fill you up for longer (meat, fish, eggs, beans, Greek yoghurt) and so on.
Get more vegetables in your diet too. All these extra micronutrients will help keep you full and fuelled throughout the day.
Eat mindfully, set time out to eat a meal and do it undistracted from emails or social media. So that you can enjoy and consciously digest the food.
- How do I get motivated to start losing weight? -
If you aren’t motivated to lose weight, the tough truth is that you don’t see enough benefit in losing weight yet. You associate more pleasure in the current lifestyle or “freedom” you have right now.
To flip that perspective on it’s head - How is NOT being as healthy as you’d like to be, holding you back in life right now? What’s it limiting you from trying or doing that you'd value…
Maybe your relationship with weight loss or “dieting” is very negative? Hence why you are putting it off.
Which means you need to try a completely different approach to dieting that isn’t based around limitations or punishment…
What are the benefits of you staying where you are? And what are the benefits of you making the change you know you need to?
We gravitate towards what is believable and achievable.
So, if you aren’t clear enough on your goals, you don’t believe they are achievable either.
Take the time or seek the guidance to delve deeper into what it takes to make this change you deserve.
I hope this post helped.
