As you can probably tell from reading my content, my goal is to make myself redundant.

Meaning to teach you how to get and stay in shape, so that you don’t have to start from scratch again.

Then you can become self sufficient enough, to keep the results that you want.

“Why would you do that? Isn’t that a bit stupid Brenton…”

I beg to differ.

The way I see it, I got into this industry to help other people avoid yo-yoing the same way I did for years.

It was painful and exhausting.

I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.

I want it so that if clients stick with me long term, they do so because the want to. Not because they don’t know how to continue alone…

There’s a big difference.

No client should finish working with a coach, clueless about what they need to do next.

This is why I won’t do meal plans!

They actually annoy me to be honest.

Generic PT: “Here is a script of what to eat exactly, because you cannot be trusted to deviate from this plan, and you aren’t smart enough to think for yourself at any point whatsoever.”

You: “But coach, what about if I have a social event coming up?” Your PT: “Take chicken and broccoli with you…”

You: “But coach, what do I do when I’ve lost the weight using this plan?” Your PT: “Continue to do so for as long as you want to stay fit”.

You: “But coach, my lifestyle is very different to the average person. I need something more personal than this PDF you’ve sent me.”

Annoying PT who has watched way too many motivational clips on youtube: “How bad do you want it?”

Do you see where I’m coming from?

Meal plans are just a plaster over a wound.

They don’t teach you about:

Emotional eating and regulation. Because most of you know what to eat it’s just that our emotions override our logic multiple times a day. ✅

Portion control. So that you can think on your feet in all different scenarios, of this thing called life which is truly unpredictable. ✅

Nutrition targets. So that you can have variety and enjoyment in your diet whilst hitting your goals and losing body fat etc. ✅

My alternative to meal plans is Flexible dieting.

This way you learn about the value of what you are eating, you have all the tools/recipes a meal plan would give you and the flexibility to change what you are eating as you aren’t a gerbil living off the same foods every day.

The reason this bothers me is because many clients, prior to working with me judged and berated themselves for not being able to  adhere to a “meal plan”.

And that’s because they and you are human.

Plans change.
Meetings run over.
People forget to take their lunch to work.
And you aren’t a gerbil once again.

Unless you are Davina McCall with a personal chef it’s almost impossible to follow this generic route.

Meal plans don’t work.

There’s a more sustainable way and that’s flexible dieting.

I hope I get to introduce you to it someday.

Send me a message if you want my help in getting fit without eating like a gerbil. 😊
